Any changes to our laws must be carefully tailored to fit our specific needs and circumstances.The NPC plays a pivotal role in interpreting and enforcing data privacy laws. While it cannot unilaterally amend legislation — that power resides with Congress — it can issue guidelines and advisories to clarify existing provisions. The NPC can also recommend legislative changes to address emerging challenges, working collaboratively with lawmakers, industry stakeholders and the public.
