Cebuano sports great June Mar Fajardo completed his collection of golds as a member of the Philippine men’s basketball team.
This came after the 6-foot-10 behemoth from Pinamungajan town, south of Cebu helped Gilas Pilipinas beat Jordan, 70-60, three nights ago in Hangzhou, China to win the country’s first Asian Games basketball gold since 1962.
Two years later, the nine-time PBA champion, six-time MVP, and eight-time All-Star formed part of the national squad that reigned supreme in the 30th Southeast Asian Games hosted by the country in 2019. They annihilated Thailand in the final, 115-81.
