I had to duck out of an event for a few minutes for my interview with Thai R&B singer Fyeqoodgurl. I stepped into ‘harlan & holden’ hoping for a quiet coffee shop vibe. In true ‘from the boondocks’ style it was my first time there and instead of a jazzy coffee shop vibe I was met with hip pulsating club music.
‘Walk My Walk’ the lead single in ‘Hypnosis’ captures Fye’s easygoing vibe, and showcases her triple-threat talents . Truly an empowering song, in ‘Walk My Walk’ after Fye sings that she’s ready to “Talk my talk, walk my walk, and give them the best of me” she invites the listener to “feel the way that I’m feeling” all of this accompanied by an infectious beat that would get you bobbing your head and getting up to dance and raise your arms in the air.
Known for her hands-on approach to her career, Fye shared how she creates the concept for each song. “I think about what kind of clothes I want to wear for this song” she begins, “Or even what kind of color will be the theme in this song, or what character, everything comes naturally for me when I think about these things.”
