Under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) project initiative Tsuper Iskolar, more scholarship slots were opened by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in its continuous partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Friday in Central Visayas.
The program installment was led by the agencies’ officials, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña and DOTr OIC Undersecretary Mark Richmund De Leon, representing Secretary Arthur Tugade with their regional and provincial directors, and other undersecretaries, and was attended by over a thousand drivers, operators, and other transportation sector stakeholders from Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
In their messages, Lapena and Tugade said the Tsuper Iskolar beneficiaries will be receiving free skills training and assessment, P350 daily transportation and food allowance, and free entrepreneurship training qualifications) to aid them in the possible effects of the PUVMP. “I appeal to all our Tsuper Iskolars, the beneficiaries of this scholarship program to complete and finish their chosen course or training, and get the proper assessment so they will earn their National Certificates . Companies on the lookout for skilled workers require potential employees with appropriate NCs,” added the TESDA chief.
Lapeña, through TESDA’s regional and provincial offices and the Scholarships Management Division , ensured the smooth extension of these skills training aide through comprehensive Quality Management System reports.
