OFFICIALS of two business groups are thumbing-down the plan of the Marcos government to impose a tax on single-use plastics.
However, some of his fellow officials at Philexport, the umbrella organization of exporters in the country, are keen on supporting the proposed imposition of an excise tax on single-use plastics. For example, some housewives now carry a lot of paper when they go shopping, Ortiz-Luis said noting that some establishments charge P2 for paper bag.
