Forro said the victim, who was reportedly an Army reservist, was gunned down by three assailants led by one Roberto Macantal at past 7 a.m.Police said Ybanez was armed with a 9mm pistol but was unable to return fire when he was attacked.

Barangay Maligo Chairman Eliseo Caramejo said the victim reportedly received threats after he joined a military operation against a lawless armed group in Barangay Landan, Polomolok two weeks ago.
