Tagle testing COVID positive, presence in PH surprises many
Among them is his former secretary Fr. Reginald Malicdem, rector of the Manila Cathedral in Manila.
Malicdem said when the news broke out Friday, he received a deluge of text messages from a lot of people asking about the whereabouts of the cardinal. “But I’m also thinking that if the cardinal knows this, he will say that there are also others in need of help so let us also share with them,” added Malicdem.
In his homily, Malicdem also asked the faithful to continue to pray for the swift recovery of the cardinal.Acting president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Bishop Pablo David asked prelates to include the cardinal in their daily Mass intentions until he recovers fully from COVID-19.According to David, Tagle tested positive for COVID Friday when he arrived in Manila for a brief late summer break.
