Taduran , who lost the title in 2022, unleashed a barrage of punches as he battered Shigeoka on the ropes so badly the referee had to stop the bout with 10 seconds left in the ninth period. Taduran , who scored his 13th knockout, dealt Shigeoka his first loss in 12 bouts.
Taduran, who hails from Libon Albay, thus became the second Filipino reigning world champ after Melvin Jerusalem, who won the World Boxing Council 105-pound belt last March.Meanwhile, Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao figured in a draw against Japanese kickboxer Ruyika Anpo in their exhibition match in the main event of Super Rizin 3 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Sunday.Since the three-round fight under boxing rules is only an exhibition one, no rounds are officially judged.
