Up to 100mm could drench the tens of thousands of fans expected to attend and potentially trigger flooding along the Macquarie River in Bathurst.Premier Dominic Perrottet and Emergency Services minister Steph Cooke, NSW SES Commissioner Carlene York and the Bureau of Meteorology’s Jane Golding will address reporters on Saturday at 3pm to provide a weather and flood update.
“The SEOC is a central hub, based at Rural Fire Service headquarters, where experts can monitor the situation in real-time and coordinate a whole-of-government response to the expected weather,” a media release issued earlier on Saturday said. There’s also a strong marine wind warning for Sydney on Saturday – and a gale warning on Sunday on the coast – and a hazardous surf warning.
