Nine exceptional groups were awarded for their innovative solutions across digitalization, sustainability, and prosperity during the second edition of the Swiss Innovation Prize Competition.

The second edition of the Swiss Innovation Prize Competition concluded with a prestigious award ceremony on November 21st. Nine outstanding groups, comprising 23 individual finalists, were honored for their pioneering contributions across three key innovation areas: digitalization, sustainability, and prosperity. These groups surpassed expectations, emerging from a pool of 163 applications.

The Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines, in partnership with the Swiss Cultural Fund, orchestrated the three-day competition. Finalists enjoyed immersive site visits to prominent Swiss-owned companies, including Franke Foodservice Systems in Batangas, Ivoclar Vivadent in Laguna, Holcim in Bulacan, and La Rose Noire in Pampanga. These visits provided valuable insights into modern innovation practices and opportunities to engage with respected leaders within the local Swiss business community. The award ceremony commenced with inspiring remarks from Thimon Fürst, Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy. Messages from the Philippine government were conveyed by Usec. Leah Buendia of the Department of Science and Technology, Dir. Imelda Legaspi of the Commission on Higher Education, Asst. Sec. Leonila Baluyut of the Department of Trade and Industry, and Atty. Ann Claire Cabochan, Deputy Director General of the Intellectual Property Office. Kent Marjun Primor, Head of the Economic and Trade Advisory, outlined the trajectory of the 2024 competition, while Joel Chong, President of Novartis Philippines, emphasized the crucial role of innovation in driving societal progress
