Police have identified a suspect in the killing of a statistician of the Philippine Statistics Authority in Quezon City on Tuesday.

The victim, 54-year-old Namer Ariate, and two others were in a tricycle when two men armed with handguns blocked their path.MANILA, Philippines — Police have identified a suspect in the killing of a statistician of the Philippine Statistics Authority in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, director of the Quezon City Police District, said QCPD personnel are tracking down the suspect’s whereabouts. Maranan did not give other details about the suspect so as not to jeopardize the manhunt for his arrest. The victim, 54-year-old Namer Ariate, and two others were in a tricycle when two men armed with handguns blocked their path.Ariate was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.Police did not form a special investigation task group as they have clear leads in the case, he said.
