JOB applicants this year chose work-life balance and company values as factors in signing up for employment, according to a survey by online job portal Jobstreet by SEEK.
The Employee Job Happiness Index 2024 revealed that prospective employees were prioritizing work schedules and company reputation and values in evaluating potential employers. Work culture, benefits and job security were also identified as critical factors affecting their decisions.Among Filipino jobseekers, 38 percent cited social media and online news as the most common platforms used to research companies; 17 percent looked at company websites; and 14 percent relied on word-of-mouth.
'Hirers may consider these benefits as drivers toward employee retention, as keeping morale within an organization helps preserve job satisfaction and, in turn, employee retention,' the survey said, adding that happy employees are more likely to recommend their employers to others.Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines Managing Director Dannah Majarocon emphasized the need for employers to rethink their recruitment strategies.
