THE Supreme Court has issued a temporary restraining order on the implementation of “Oplan Baklas” of the Commission on Elections .
The Comelec ruled that under its Resolution 10730, it can take down oversized tarpaulins, posters, billboard, murals, and other election materials that are not located in common poster areas. It said the order should only cover political parties, candidates and not the private individuals expressing support to a candidate.
In a statement, the Department of the Interior and Local Government said it will respect the decision of the court.
