Over the weekend, the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said there was nothing wrong with Muslims attending a wedding or a wake held at a church.
This comes after Johor ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, said Muslims in the state were free to visit houses of worship belonging to other faiths, provided they refrain from engaging in the rituals and prayers of other religions. Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Netizens too shared their thoughts on this issue, with many saying there was no reason not to attend weddings as long as one does not participate in said rituals.
