“Strong Group Athletics being invited to join the Taiwan P League as a guest team. What do you think? Should we?” Tiu said. Six months later, Tiu, who has seen two prior appearances for the Philippines in Jones Cup, was tasked to lead Strong Group to the competition and successfully steered the squad to the country's seventh overall title in the tournament.

NBA player Dwight Howard, who is currently suiting up for the Taiwan Mustangs in The Asian Tournament, was tapped by Strong Group for its Dubai stint as an import along with Andray Blatche.
