VERSATILE sophomore Stephen Holt has lived up to the hype last season after being named the PBA Season 49 Rookie of the Year.
His rookie season saw him help turn a minnow Terrafirma squad into a giant-killing ball club that reached the playoffs for just the second time in franchise history.The Dyip entered the playoffs as the eighth seed in the Philippine Cup last season, beating the top seed San Miguel in the quarterfinals to force a sudden death, before eventually losing to the Beermen.
In fact, Holt played a big part in Ginebra's quarterfinal series triumph over Meralco.He scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished off five assists as well during Ginebra's series-clinching win on Monday to complete its three-game sweep of Meralco, en route to sealing a spot in the semifinals.'Coach preaches that you can't win the championship if you can't reach the Final Four.
