Mohd Hairi said Johor-based cooperatives had an increase in revenue of 5.6 per cent last year.

State youth, sports, entrepreneur, cooperatives development and human resources committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah said Johor-based cooperatives had an increase in revenue of 5.6% last year.

“In 2020, the cooperatives achieved revenue of RM970mil, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, we recorded RM670mil which was a 30% decrease. Mohd Hairi said this during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering organised by the Johor Cooperative Commission of Malaysia at Kompleks Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat in Johor Baru.

He said that most of these inactive cooperatives had been helped to expand and develop their business modules, but were unable to survive.
