NSW greats Benny Elias and Peter Wynn believe the Blues can pull off an unlikely win but former Maroons star PJ Marsh thinks the Queenslanders and the Suncorp Stadium crowd will be too much.
State of Origin Game II will be played at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night with the NSW Blues looking to keep the series alive after the Queenslanders pulled off a stunning come-from-behind victory in the first match.
Marsh told Sky News Australia he heard Queensland five-eighth Cameron Munster claiming the underdog tag but admitted the Maroons were deserved favourites.“It’s always up front that’s where the battle’s always won I just think it’s really important to get away to a good start and you can never tell Origin games they’re always a tough battle.”
“You get an opportunity in life and you’ve just got to take it with both hands,” he said on Wednesday morning. If NSW lose the series it’s likely Fittler will not be offered a contract extension ending his tenure with three series wins and three series losses. “It’s just unfortunate you’ve got to remember going back to that game in Adelaide we were leading with only 10 minutes to go and the game changed.”
The Parramatta halfback was thrust into the side leaving Dally M winner Nicho Hynes to be dropped despite already being in the squad for game one.
