Four member of the notorious Sputnik criminal group operating in the southern part of Metro Manila were arrested by the police following a buy-bust operation held in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City.

The suspects were identified as Celso Purificacion Jr., 22; Reniel Ortiz, 24; Jay Cris Canelas, 34; and Rommel Dolatre, 22.

According to the police report, the operatives conducted the buy-bust operation against illegal firearms and ammunition where they recovered two caliber 38 revolvers, a caliber .45 pistol, an assembly magazine for the pistol, and live ammunition for the firearms. The police said the suspects are facing charges for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and PD 1602 or the anti-illegal gambling act.
