THE House of Representatives on Wednesday honored Filipino athletes in the Paris Olympics with the Congressional Medal of Excellence and Congressional Medal of Distinction on top of cash gifts.
“We in the House of Representatives, House of the People, are honored by your victories and by your achievements,” said Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez Jr. as he expressed the nation’s pride in the achievements of the athletes. “We want to thank every one of you.”
In addition to the prestigious medal, Yulo received a total of P14.510 million in incentives, including P6 million from the House of Representatives and P8.510 million from contributions by House members.“Thank you to those who stayed up late to watch us,” Yulo said. “Our victory is a victory for all of us.”
House Resolution No. 241 was adopted to honor all Filipino athletes and the entire Philippine delegation who competed in the last Olympics.
