It’s week two of the cleanup on the southwest coast following the devastation brought by hurricane Fiona.

Electrical and structural engineers are assessing homes and properties to see if they are able to be occupied but that is a lengthy process. Mayor Brian Button says a contract has been awarded for repairs to the Grand Bay West bridge and work should start tomorrow. Clement Crescent is not a passable road but the military is working on a plan to allow traffic to get in and back out; Water Street is not passable in sections but one section can be accessed through McKay Street.
