The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines and Out of The Box Media Literacy Initiative are offering a bootcamp for digital creators in Southeast Asia to enhance their media literacy and content creation skills.
Digital content creators from Southeast Asia are invited to participate in the YSEALI media literacy and content creation workshop, running from April to June. The program, Creators Co-Lab: YSEALI Bootcamp for Digital Creators, is a collaboration between the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines and Out of The Box Media Literacy Initiative. It aims to equip young creators with the skills needed to navigate the evolving media landscape.
Participants will receive training from experts on media literacy, content creation, brand development, audience engagement, and analytics. The workshop will also cover critical topics such as disinformation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN member countries or Timor-Leste, aged 18 to 35, with at least 1,000 followers on any social media platform and an active online presence over the past three months. After completing the bootcamp, participants may apply for grants worth P224,000 ($4,000) and mentorship to develop new digital projects. They will also join the U.S. international exchange alumni network. The program is part of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), which supports youth leadership across Southeast Asia
