Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Tuesday expressed optimism that Congress could swiftly proclaim the winners of the May 9 presidential and vice presidential elections. Eleksyon2022
"We will try to make it as swift as possible because I don't see a delay," Sotto told reporters, as he referred to presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s and vice presidential bet Sara Duterte's massive leads in the Commission on Elections' partial tally.
He said an early finish to the canvassing will allow the Senate to pass more bills before Congress goes on sine die adjournment on June 3.
