Two of the proponents of the anti-terrorism bill on Saturday (June 6) expressed their confidence that the measure will stand the test of constitutionality when it is challenged before the Supreme Court (SC).
Senate President Vicente Sotto III even dared critics to bring their contentions against the bill to the SC.
He said he has yet to sign the final copy of the proposed anti-terrorism act that will be enrolled for President Duterte’s signature. “Wala kaming nakikitang violation ng Constitution dahil lahat na position dito nakapaloob at di lalagpas sa Article 3 ng Constitution, Bill of Rights ,” Lacson said in a separate DWIZ radio interview later.
“Ayoko masayang ang pagod namin na balang araw kinwestyon sa SC, lumampas kami sa boundaries ng Bill of Rights, ma-declare as unconstitutional ,” he added.
