AFP was one of several media outlets invited to join two Philippine Coast Guard boats on a 1,670-kilometre patrol of the South China Sea, visiting a dozen islands and reefs.
“Proper diplomatic channels and mechanisms under the rules-based international order remain the only acceptable means of settling disputes. Peace and community-building will always be our clarion call,” he said. The President also underscored the importance of strengthening the country’s defense posture, both through self-reliance and partnerships with like-minded states. “We are now more conscious as a people and strategic in heightening our aerial and maritime domain awareness,” he noted.
