The city governments of Pasig, Manila, and Valenzuela announced the closure of some cemeteries on Sunday, October 30, 2022, due to the bad weather caused by Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae).
"Mananatiling sarado ang Pasig City Cemetery ngayong araw, October 30, 2022 kaugnay ng masamang lagay ng panahon dulot ng Severe Tropical Storm #PaengPH," the Pasig local government unit said in anThe Pasig LGU meanwhile urged private cemetery administrators to consider closing their cemeteries temporarily on Sunday.
Meanwhile, burials scheduled for Sunday at the Pasig City Cemetery will proceed as scheduled, except if the families opt for a reschedule, it added. The Pasig City Cemetery will reopen on Monday, October 31, to allow the public to visit the tombs of their departed loved ones for the All Saints Day observance, the LGU said., as ordered by Vice Mayor John Marvin Yul Servo Nieto who is currently serving as acting mayor.Meanwhile, in Valenzuela City, the LGU advised the public that all cemeteries, memorial parks and columbaria will be closed on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
