Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare is set to visit Australia following fresh revelations that China is driving a wedge in the important Pacific relationship by spreading anti-West commentary.

In recent years, the Pacific has been the centre of a geopolitical tug-of-war between China, the United States and Australia.

Since coming into office both Mr Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong have focused on solidifying the critical security partnership.
