‘Soaked in blood?’: An acclaimed restaurant in the heart of an upmarket Brisbane suburb has been smeared by an anti-Israel campaign, with someone accusing the owners of “burying Palestinians” and “selling their food off”.

An acclaimed restaurant in the heart of an upmarket Brisbane suburb has been smeared by an anti-Israel campaign, with someone accusing the owners of “burying Palestinians” and “selling their food off” as their own.

On Instagram, someone posted a photo of Yababa’s menu, adding: “What, stolen and soaked in blood? Sounds tempting.” Despite this being the second time the restaurant has been targeted, Yababa’s owners said their doors were “wide open to all”.“[They] are not going to change the fact that Yababa is, and will be, providing its customers with an amazing Israeli cuisine ‘the Israeli way’,” they said online.

“I condemn this type of hateful campaign of denigration and exclusion, filled with slurs and distortions, which is aimed at destroying a business simply because its owner is Israeli and Jewish,” he said.
