Community association seeking support for comprehensive planning project

The Jagts are relatively new to Halls Harbour, having moved from Caledonia, Ont., about a year ago. Amber, a registered massage therapist and HHCDA secretary, said helping to support the planning project is important to them “because we live here, and we love our harbour.” “We’re excited about the encouragement that we’ve had from all levels of government, from people in the harbour itself and from outside the harbour,” Davies said.
A February 2022 rain storm combined with snow melt and high tides illustrated that Halls Harbour is susceptible to the impacts of storms and sea level rise. Residents have had several opportunities to give their input as to what the project should look like. He is confident that even though Halls Harbour is a small community, it can make it happen.
