As of 2024, the foundation has rolled out more than 400 training sessions across the Philippines, providing modern agricultural skills to over 32,000 farmers.The foundation continues to widen the program’s reach, recently starting a new batch of training for 100 farmers from Cagayan de Oro, which commenced on August 8. The program aims to boost farmers’ knowledge on modern and market-oriented farming to help them improve their productivity and income.
In addition to launching new sessions, SM Foundation marked the completion of training in several areas. On August 6, 100 farmers from San Juan, Batangas, graduated from the program. This was followed by the August 13 graduation of another 100 farmers from Sariaya and San Andres, Quezon. SM Foundation plans to launch the KSK program to more regions this year, anchored on their mission of supporting food security and creating opportunities.Graduates of the program undergo a market tour with SM Markets, allowing them to explore marketing strategies and farm-to-market linkages.The program enables the farmers to harness the potential of high-value crops and explore modern farming methods.
