MANILA, Philippines — Five-time PBA All-Star slotman Greg Slaughter posted a photo of him with Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone in his Instagram account on Tuesday.
The photo was specifically posted by the 37-year-old Slaughter in his IG story, after what appeared to be a visit at Ginebra’s practice at the San Miguel Corp. gym in Pasig.The Filipino big man known by his moniker “Gregzilla”, played under Cone for six seasons after being selected no. 1 overall pick by Ginebra in the 2013 PBA Rookie Draft.He won four PBA championships with the league’s most popular squad and was even named the Best Player for the 2017 Governors’ Cup.
His stint with Ginebra though ended after his 2020 sabbatical when he was shipped in 2021 to NorthPort in exchange for Christian Standhardinger.The seven-foot big man only played briefly for the Batang Pier, and eventually failed to reach a new deal.The former University of Visayas standout would then, take his act overseas, playing for the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka in Japan for two years.
