The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted surprise drug tests on drivers and conductors during the Holiday season, resulting in six positive tests for illegal drugs.

On January 6, 2025, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted surprise drug tests on drivers and conductors as part of road safety measures for the Holiday season. Out of the 98 tested, six individuals were found positive for illegal drug use. The PDEA-Cordillera Administrative Region chemists administered the drug tests, while the PDEA-Land Transport Interdiction Unit (LTIU) utilized narcotic detection dogs to inspect passenger belongings.

The PDEA emphasized that measures for those who tested positive include license revocation, penalties, and suspension from work. Additionally, they are to be referred to barangays for drug treatment, rehabilitation, and monitoring. The PDEA-CAR, in collaboration with the DOTr, LTO, and LTFRB Cordillera, remains dedicated to creating a drug-free community
