Another temperature record could also be shattered on Saturday

Yesterday’s temperature was record-breaking, as evidenced by people breaking out their summer wear, even though there’s still plenty of snow on the ground, thanks to a couple of spring storms earlier this month.

The temperature yesterday got up to 21.4 C in Greater Sudbury. The previous temperature record for April 13 was set in 1998, when the day’s high was 19.4 C.The temperature on April 12, which got up to 17.4 C, came close to the record temperature for that day, which was 17.5 C, set in 1984. Today’s daytime high is forecast to get up to 18 C. The temperature record for April 14 for this area was 19.4 C, set in 1968.

Saturday and Sunday are also going to be hot and sunny, with temperatures of 24 C predicted for Saturday and 21 C for Sunday. A record temperature could be set on Saturday, as the current record for April 15 is 21.7 C, set in 1976. The record for April 16 is 27.1 C, set in 2002, so it’s unlikely Sunday’s temperatures are going to meet that threshold.
