The Shooters party is without representation in the NSW lower house after two MPs decided to run as independents at the March state election.

Two regional MPs have abandoned the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party and will run as independents at the NSW election after their leader refused to resign over inflammatory comments about a female colleague.or risk jeopardising the party’s chances at next year’s poll.Credit:during a fiery parliamentary debate in September.

Butler said the language Borsak used was “indefensible” and that he would not condone references of violence towards anyone. The vote among more than 20 branches proposed changing two of the party’s four executive positions, currently held by Borsak’s son and a friend, however it ultimately failed.“I said the future of the party wasn’t tenable without change. We didn’t get change. That’s what has led to the decision made over the weekend that we would step aside and run as independents,” Butler said.
