And Nova Scotia isn’t the only government where there’s a promise to “fix” health care. The stakes are high and so is the accountability and blame game.
The provinces want $28 billion collectively. They want the federal government to contribute 35 percent of the overall costs of delivery health care. And the pressure is on to do this before the federal and provincial budgets are set by the end of March.We keep hearing it’s a human resources issue. We need more people. And health authorities and departments are ramping up recruitment efforts. Governments are talking about adding seats for student nurses and doctors.
