IPOH: A 66-year-old man has been arrested here for trying to rob a mobile phone shop on Jalan Onn Jaafar with a toy gun.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said police received information about the robbery around 4pm on Saturday ."They managed to seize several items from him including a backpack, a toy gun and two knives.
"With the arrest, we managed to solve two other cases with the same modus operation reported on March 25 and April 5 around the Pekan Bharu area," he said in a statement on Sunday ."He tested positive for morphine. All three cases will be investigated under Section 392/397 of the Penal Code for robbery using a weapon.ACP Yahaya thanked the public for cooperating with police to apprehend the suspect.
