Senators file resolution halting gov’t PUV modernization plan

Senator Raffy Tulfo and others filed a Senate resolution to temporarily suspend the implementation of the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program .

In filing SR No. 1096, Tulfo and his colleagues highlighted the valid and urgent concerns raised by affected drivers, groups, unions, and transport cooperatives, particularly issues on consolidation into cooperatives. Manibela president Mar Valbuena, in an interview, said: “Our sacrifices have paid off. This is a welcome development.”
