Senator Bong Go , widely known as 'Mr. Malasakit,' extended his compassionate support to over a thousand indigent individuals and micro-entrepreneurs in Bacolor , Pampanga, on Tuesday. Through a collaborative effort with local leaders, including Mayor Datu Diman and Vice Mayor Ron Dungca, Senator Go ensured the delivery of vital assistance and government programs to the beneficiaries gathered at the Bacolor Municipal Gymnasium.
Senator Go's unwavering commitment to alleviating poverty resulted in the distribution of 50 kilograms of rice to each of the 1,200 identified indigent individuals by the local government. Furthermore, 200 qualified micro-entrepreneurs received livelihood packages through the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, a project Senator Go has championed since its inception. These packages included negsyo carts, bigasan, karinderya, and hydroponics materials, designed to empower and expand their small businesses.All beneficiaries also received essential aid from Senator Go, such as snacks, shirts, and food packs. Additionally, select individuals were provided with bicycles, shoes, fans, mobile phones, and watches. In his address, Senator Go emphasized the significance of collective support and empathy in overcoming the challenges faced by many Filipinos. 'Someone approached me earlier, expressing their gratitude. In truth, we should be thanking you because you allowed us to serve you,' he stated in Filipino. 'What is crucial is that we assist those in need, our hopeless and helpless countrymen,' he added. Mayor Diman expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the senator for his steadfast support and dedication to uplifting the people of Bacolor. Before concluding his visit, Senator Go reiterated his commitment to public service. 'I will continue to serve you because it is my habit to serve. You are my inspiration in fulfilling my duty.
