SEN. Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa on Sunday apologized to Akbayan Rep. Perci Cendaña for mocking his physical condition after the latter chided Vice President Sara Duterte for not taking seriously her impending impeachment trial.In her press conference on Friday, Duterte shrugged off the impeachment bid against her, saying it 'is more painful being dumped by a boyfriend or a girlfriend than to be impeached by the House of Representatives.
'Dela Rosa earned a backlash from netizens and health and medical groups, prompting him to issue an apology.'I apologize for what I said and did, particularly in failing to see the bigger picture,' Dela Rosa said on Facebook. 'My apologies to Congressman Perci Cendana for my offensive comments on his person. I wish him good health.''I make no excuses, and I take full responsibility for the hurt my words have caused,' the senator said.
