FOUR senators have jointly filed Senate Bill Senate Bill 1784 which seeks to grant additional benefits and privileges to former presidents of the Philippines.Senators Christopher 'Bong' Go, Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa, Francis Tolentino, and Mark Villar filed the proposed 'Former Presidents Benefits Act of 2023.
Under the bill, a former president will be entitled to at least three security personnel to be provided by the Presidential Security Group and 'to be augmented by the PNP as the need arises.'Sen. Robinhood Padilla backed the measure.'I am sure they have much to contribute to our nation, even after their terms end,' the senator said in a statement.
