Secretary Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga announces plans to remove forest conservationists from the Upper Marikina Watershed during a Senate inquiry on the neglect of protected areas by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Yulo-Loyzaga argues that the Masungi Georeserve Foundation's reforestation efforts are invalid, despite their previous recognition for environmentalism. The foundation has been combating land grabbers, illegal loggers, and unlicensed resorts with the help of park rangers. Senator Raffy Tulfo also calls for an investigation into Yulo-Loyzaga's potential conflict of interest regarding her family's ranch in Palawan.
Secretary Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga will expel forest conservationists from the Upper Marikina Watershed . She stated this at the very Senate inquiry Wednesday on the neglect of protected areas by her Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources.
