For the second game in a row, TFC held a second-half lead on the road but were unable to garner three points. To TFC’s credit, even though they gave up the tying goal, the team showed a tremendous amount of fight in the game — led by the midfield trio of Michael Bradley, Mark-Anthony Kaye and Jonathan Osorio.
Atlanta dominated statistically, recording 16 shots to four by Toronto while the home side held a 67%-33% edge in possession. The Five Stripes also had nine corners while TFC had none. Those stats were certainly telling as Atlanta was the better side, but, again, the overmatched Reds did battle hard.
The two sides battled to a scoreless draw after the first half. The Reds held their own defensively but with Insigne out of the lineup, were unable to muster much of an attack.
