NBA veteran Dennis Schroder disdained the thought of playing what he considered as 'the worst game of his basketball career' against Latvia.

With the fate of Germany's 2023 FIBA World Cup medal hopes hanging in the balance, and the 6-foot-1 guard shooting bricks, Schroder had to dig deep from within as he tries to provide the leadership his teammates need against the Latvians.

'As a leader, as a captain , I can't be falling in a bad mood. For me, I'm just happy everybody stepped up.'Latvia showed sterner stuff when it launched a massive comeback after being down by as many as 12 points early in the fourth period.Sensational guard Arturs Zagars in fact, scored Latvia's last six points, including the last two driving layups against tall defenders to push his team to within two.'Latvia is very tough in the game.
