Along with two-time Grammy-winning Toronto groove unit BadBadNotGood the next night, this delivers a one-two festival punch.

Grammy award-winning smooth jazz titan Chris Botti and two-time Grammy-winning Toronto groove unit BadBadNotGood will headline the 2023 Vancouver International Jazz Festival major shows at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre this summer.

Both acts are hugely successful commercial artists who are sure to draw for the annual event, which announced a somewhat reduced schedule for this year. Botti leads a nine-piece band, including pianist Taylor Eigsti, through a set of songs ranging from 2004’s hit When I Fall In Love, to his latest, Impressions. This album won the best pop instrumental album at the Grammys. It does not take its title from the John Coltrane album of the same name. Botti’s style is smooth and easy. His performance will be opened by swinging piano player Michael Kaeshammer, who is famed for being a very hard act to follow. WAVE 98.
