“Our daughter plays U9 hockey for the Northwest Warriors and I got to a game one day and our team manager, Tova, came up to me as I was walking to the bleachers and said ‘I made these stickers and I was just wondering if it would be okay to put them on the helmets,’ and I was flabbergasted because I had no idea this was happening at all,” Snow said.Article content

“Sarah and I chatted, and we thought we could sell them to a few teams and raise a little bit of money for ALS … We thought we’d raise a couple hundred bucks or something and sell a few hundred stickers,” Stewart said, laughing. “My sister passed from ALS in 2016. She was 46 when she was diagnosed, and then she was 50 when she died. So I feel that ALS is a really difficult disease to relate to unless you’ve really been through it. And when we learned that Willa was on our team, I immediately felt a connection with the family,” Booth said.
