Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday urged Filipinos to honor the life and heroism of Andres Bonifacio as the country commemorated his 161st birth anniversary.In her video message, Duterte said that the occasion was an opportunity for Filipinos to reflect on the country’s condition and future.
Duterte, under congressional scrutiny for her use of public funds, has been critical of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. since she left the administration in July. She even labeled her former ally an incompetent president and a liar.The vice president said that the country’s freedom is Bonifacio's legacy to every Filipino.“Mga kababayan, ang pamana ni Bonifacio sa atin ay ang ating kalayaan. Alagaan natin ito. Ipaglaban natin ito,” she said.
