Pulido was found guilty alongside her co-accused, who included former staff of the late Negros Oriental Representative Herminio Teves, officials from the Technology and Livelihood Resource Center (TLRC), and an official of a non-government organization (NGO). The court sentenced Pulido to six to ten years imprisonment for graft and 12 to 18 years for malversation related to the anomalous use of P10 million in Teves' PDAF. The funds, intended for livelihood programs, were allegedly diverted to ghost projects in 2007. Pulido, in her motion for reconsideration, argued that her lawyer failed to provide her with adequate legal assistance, leading to the missed deadline for filing an appeal. She vehemently denied any involvement in the scheme and claimed that her signature on the documents presented during the trial were forgeries. However, the Sandiganbayan rejected her plea, stating that her failure to monitor the status of her case contributed to the missed deadline. The court emphasized that the filing of the appeal was significantly delayed, not just by days or weeks, but by several months.The Sandiganbayan's decision upholds Pulido's conviction and solidifies the court's stance against corruption in government programs.
