Mayor Vicente Amante of San Pablo City , Laguna, recently sworn into office team's nine seasoned showbiz journalists, headed by its president, Nonie Nicasio.Other officers are Anne Venancio, vice president; Maridol Ranoa-Bismark, secretary; Maryo Labad, assistant secretary; Obette Serrano, treasurer; Noel Benesisto Orsal, assistant treasurer; Wendell Alvarez, auditor; and Pilar Mateo and Danny Vibas, PROs.
Since 1993, under Amante's leadership, San Pablo City has been chosen as an Outstanding Local Government Unit , a presidential award under a program implemented by the National Economic and Development Council, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Health. Former president Fidel V. Ramos recognized Amante as a Hall of Famer.Amante's wife, fondly called 'Mayora,' has also received recognition as a private citizen.
