SAN MIGUEL Beer didn’t give Converge breathing in a 114-96 victory in Game 1 on Wednesday of their best-of-three quarterfinals showdown in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
They controlled the entire game to avenge their previous loss to the fourth-seeded FibeXers, 102-106, last October 21. Gallent is now 5-0 since temporarily subbing for head coach Leo Austria who’s still under health protocols.
