The San Isidro Labrador Parish in Makiling, Calamba, Laguna will receive a first-class relic of its patron San Isidro Labrador.
The parish will receive the relic to coincide with the culmination of the 400th anniversary of the canonization of the well venerated saint, said parish priest Fr. Francis Eugene Fadul“Relics are a sacramental help in the growth of the Christian life. It is a reminder of the life and holiness of San Isidro that the faithful must emulate,” said Fr. Fadul over Radio Veritas.
“It is an opportune time for the community to know more about its patron saint and learn how to fulfill God’s will through his example. Since the parish is among the few chosen to receive the relics, it is indeed an honor. It is the presence of the saint amid our community. It will establish a spiritual tie between the Real Colegiata Iglesia de San Isidro in Madrid, Spain where his body lies and our parish,” said Fr. Fadul.
